General and Important Instruction for the session 2006-07
1. The admission forms will not be submitted in the office for B.A- I and B.Com - I.
2. For B.Sc (Medical), Admission form will be accepted in Biology Block upto 5th of July.
3. For B.Sc (Non Medical) Admission forms will be accepted in Kalpana Chawla Block upto 5th of July.
4. Admission forms for B.Sc (Agriculture) Part - I, should be submitted to Mr. Ashwini Mehta, Clerk, upto 10-07-2006 upto 2 pm. Late admission forms will not be accepted.
5. The admission will be made on due dates on the basis of merit following "First Come First Serve"
6. The processing committee will prepare a list one day before admission (after collecting the admission forms) and will check the required attested copies and photographs etc. The list of eligible candidates will be displayed next day on the notice board. The committee will made admissions according to this list.
6. There will be seperate admission and processing committees for boys and girls. The admission for girls will be in the sanjivani hall (common room for girls) and for boys it will be in the main hall of the college.
7. Admission for general categories will be on the basis of merit. The candidates from other reserve categories, who l fall in this merit, will be included in it.
8. The admission for various reserve categories will be made after the admission of general category on the basis of merit according to the respective category. The reservation will be according to the instructions issued by the Punjab Govt. and Punjabi University. If no candidate is eligible till the due date, the concerned seat will be dereserved.
9. The payment of fee is to be made on the spot after admission, otherwise the seat will be given to the next eligible candidate. No claim will be entertained afterwards.
10. Incomplete form or the forms after the allotment of all the seats, will not be accepted.
11. No claim for admission will be entertained after Fulfillment of all the seats. Even the students having more merit than the previous students will not be entertained .
12. The admission process will start from 5 July for B.A - II, III, B.Com part II, III, B.Sc. (Medical / Non Medical ) part II, III and B.Sc (Agriculture) part II, III, IV. A separate notice will be displayed in this concern.
13. The physical fitness test will be conducted on 13 July, 2006 at 9AM in the college ground. The subject physical education will be given to only those students who are eligible in the fitness test.
14. The admission to new subject will be given only after opting for the new subject. ( after the seats are full in one subject). The subject will not be changed afterwards.
15. According to the instruction issued by Punjabi University, all those candidates who seek admission on the basis of the lower class passed through other External / Other Universities /Boards will be considered only after acceptance of Eligibility certificated to be issued from the University.
16. Boys and Girls are required to paste three passport size coloured photographs, according to the University rules. The photograph in Patka or Cap will not be accepted. Student will bring one stamp size photograph at the time of interview. The Identity card of the student will be made on the same day.
17. The admitted students will be bound by the rules and regulations of the college. The admission of the students violating any rule, can be cancelled by the Principal at any time.
18. The Principal can deny any students from admission without telling the reason. The decision of the Principal will be final in any complicated case.
19. The professor on the counseling counter can be contacted for the guidance and help in selection of subjects.
20. According to the University rules, the student can change the stream ( from non medical to Arts etc) within 15 days of starting of the session. They are not permitted to change the subject opted at the time of admission. The subject can be changed within 15 days , only with the prior approval of the Principal in case of vacation of seat in that subject.
Students are selected for admissions into various courses though their academic record and interviews. In order to select the students for the subject of physical education in B.A. part I, a physical fitness test is carried out.
The admission criteria for different classes is as under :
A) B.Com - I
Admission is made to B.Com on the basis of the merit of 10+2. The students keen to take admission in B.Com should have secured marks as under :
10+2 Commerce Group ------------------------------------ 40%
10+2 Math, Economics, Management, Accounts -----45%
etc. with any two subject
10+2 Arts and Science ---------------------------------------50%
B) B. Sc. Agriculture
The admission to B.Sc (Agriculture) part I is made on the basis of the merit in 10+2 science (Medical, Non Medical and Agriculture). The students must have secured at least 45% marks in 10+2.
C) M.A. (Semester System)
The admission to M.A. (Punjabi) and M.A. (Economics) is made according to University rules.The norms and conditions set by the University will be followed to admit the students in M.A. classes. The admission to M.A. classes will be made on the basis of the merit to be calculated as marks secured in B.A. (at least 50%) plus the marks secured in the respective subject (at least 50%)
D) Admission to all other classes will be on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination.

Important Instructions from University regarding admission
1. For admission to M.A. , 50% in the respective subject and in aggregate is necessary.
2. In case of reappear in B.A/B.Sc/B.com part I, the student can get admission in B.A/B.Sc./B.Com part II only. He/ She is not eligible to get admission to part III until he/she clears the reappear.
3. The students who have cleared the qualifying exam from any other University/Board must get the required provisional certificate from the registration branch of the University. They will be given admission according to University rules on receipt of such certificate.
4. Students who want to opt for History and Culture of Punjab in stead of Punjabi (Compulsory) in B.A/B.Com/B.Sc. part I , are required to send the complete affidavits along with the required facts, for approval. It is also clarified here that only valid cases will be send for approval by the Principal.
5. There is a provision for late admission after revaluation according to rules.
6. The students who have passed B.Com part I and II from other universities, are required to send the case of deficit paper to University office within 1 month of admission.
7.
Students who are seeking admission to Science, Commerce, Medical, Engineering or other technical courses and have not passed the punjabi exam upto matric, are required to pass the punjabi exam ( upto matic level) or punjabi qualifying exam during their course.

Important Instructions
» The admission forms for B.A, B.Com part one will be collected on the spot. The candidates should not submit the same in the college office.
» The last date for submission of admission forms for other classes will be according to the date mentioned in the prospectus.
» The date of fitness test for admission to B.A. - I ( physical education ) is 13 July 2006 ( 9 AM)
» The basis of admission to B. Sc. (Agriculture) part I will be the pure merit. Students seeking admission to the course must have secured at least 45% marks in 10+2 ( Medical / Non medical or Agriculture )
» The students seeking admission through reserve categories, should clearly mention their category in the admission form, failing in which, they will not be considered under that category. The certificate issued by the competent authority should be duly attached with.
» Identity cards will be made at the time of admission only. One stamp size coloured photograph should be brought at the time of interview. The photograph in Patka or Cap will not be accepted.
» The student is required to mention his/her contact number on the admission form. The form will be considered incomplete without it, and will not be accepted.
» The use of mobile phone is strictly prohibited in the college campus. The mobile of the student will be seized, if caught.
»Any required information regarding admission should be got from the college office. It can also be sought on telephone number 01639-250753 ( from 10 AM to 2 PM). Calling in the office before 9 AM and after 2.30 PM is strictly prohibited.
Instruction for the candidates of Reserve Categories
1. The candidates of reserve category must mention their category in the admission form, failing in which he/she will be considered in general category.
2. The candidates of reserve category should have them the attested certificates issued by a competent authority. The attested copies of these certificates should be attached with the admission form. The original certificates will be verified by the processing committee and the interview committee. The seat will be allocated to the next deserving candidate in the absence of the valid cerotic
3. The selection of candidates of reserve category will be according to the merit list of their respective category.
4. If the seats of reserve category are not filled , the seats will be de reserved.
5. Students who wish to claim merit scholarship for S.C/B.C , will get the required proforma from Sh. Gurjit Singh, Clerk so that the case can be put to the department upto 3 August for required action.
Important Information for the students of B.A. part I
The candidates seeking admission in B.A part I will NOT SUBMIT THEIR ADMISSION FORM in the office. They will submit their forms before processing and interview committees according to the dates mentioned in the admission schedule.
Important Notice Regarding Admission and Fees
The fees and funds will be charged according to the prescribed rates notified by the Govt of Punjab/ Punjabi University from time to time.
1. The last date of submission of forms for admission to B.Sc (Agriculture) part I is 10-7-2006. The form will not be accepted afterwards. The forms for other classes will be accepted on the spot.
2. The students can seek admission within 10 days in case of late declaration of result of previous class.
3. It is the responsibility of candidates or their parents to check the notice board for interview dates.No excuse will be accepted in this concern. Late fee will be charged according to the rules after the due dates.
4. The details of admission fees can be checked on the notice board.
Re Admission
According to the University rules, the name of the students being absent for 10 days, will be struck out off the rolls. The students will get his/her name re-admitted within one week from the vicarage through re-admission.If his/her name if struck off second time, it will be permanently struck off from the college roll. The parents will be intimated about the strike out of the name.
