ROLL OF HONOUR

it is awarded to the students having outstanding achievements at University level in various fields. The followingrules will be applicable in the fields of Academics, Sports and cultural activities organized by the University.

Academics
1. Roll of honour will be awarded to the students securing top position in the University annual examination in each class.
2. The college students who get positions in the merit list of the University will be awarded roll of honour according to the following rules :
      a) Agriculture : only one student listed at top position in University merit list in each class.
      b) Commerce and Science : Students listed at first 5 positions of University merit list in each class.
      c) Humanities Group : Students listed at first 10 positions of University merit list in each class

Sports
1. Member of the team or individual participant at international or world Inter-varsity level.
2. Captain of National or State team provided that he/she has participated from the college or he/she has been sent by the college.
3. Individual participant scoring first or second position or member of the team scoring first or second position at All India inter-varsity /National sports meet.
4.Student scoring 10 marks ( without relay) at national/inter state/university/state level (approved) in Athletics.

Note : The awards will be given for only those competitions which have been recognized by Punjabi University/Inter-varsity/Govt of Punjab and the participants have been sent by the college.


Cultural
1. First position at Inter-varsity/Inter state level competition.

National Service Scheme
1. The volunteer having first, second or third position at Inter-varsity/Inter state competition/camp/gathering.

NCC
1. Cadet participating in Republic Day Parade at Delhi.

COLLEGE COLOUR

 

The college colour will be awareded students fulfillng the following conditions in different fields as given below :

Academics

 

Sports

1.100 % to University Champion Team. 60% and 40% respectively to the players of teams securing Second and Third position at University level.
2. If the team is unable to secure the third position then it will be given to 2 students ( major sports )and 1 student (other sports ) for Zonal level champion team.
3. Student scoring 5 marks in individual sport at University inter college level.
4. Boy or girl awarded as Best Athlete in Annual Sports Meet of the college.
5. Member of State/University team.
6. Students securing first or second position at state level.

Cultural Activities
1. 100%, 60% and 40% respectively to the students in the team securing first, second or third position at University level.
2. For Zonal Champion team, two and one student for major and minor team respectively, in case the team could not secure the third position at University level.
3. Student getting 15 marks at inter college competition. ( 5,3 and 2 marks will be awarded for first, second and third position respectively.)
4. Member of the University team.
5. Student declared as Best Member in various activities conducted by youth club and different camps.

NSS
1. Student getting First/Second/Third/Special Prize/Appreciation Certificate in Inter college camp/competition after competing 10 days and 120 hours of regular activities.
2. Best Volunteer of the unit.
3. Volunteer attending maximum camps.
4. Member of the University team in inter-varsity and inter-state competitions.

NCC
1. Cadet participating in Pre Republic day camp at Chandigarh.
2. Cadet passing C Certificate.
3. Best cardet selected on the basis of regularity, proper dress and control command.

PRIZES AND SCHOLARSHIPS

Prizes are given to the students securing first and second position in aggregate and also in each subject on the basis of the result of the house tests. The condition to be eligible for the prize is that prize winner should be getting pass marks in each subject and there should be no complaint against him regarding unfair means or of indiscipline.
Prizes are given to the students securing first position ( with more than 60% marks) in the University examination. Prizes are also given to the students on the basis of annual sports meet of the college.

Late Smt. Amarjit Kaur Punia Memorial Award
Students securing First position in the annual examination at college level in B.A/B.Com/B.Sc (Medical/Non medical), B.Sc (Agriculture) and Post Graduate courses are awarded Late Smt. Amarjit Kaur Punia W/o Principal H.S.Punia (Retd.). award of Rs. 10,000/-

Late Smt. Harbhajan Kaur Memorial Award
With the objective of providing financial aid to intelligent but financially backward students, this award is given by Prof. Amarjit Kaur , (Punjabi) since 2005-06 in the memory of her mother Smt. Harbhajan Kaur. The award amount is Rs. 5100/-.

GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIP AND WELFARE SCHEMES

The students can claim scholarships being provided by Govt. of Punjab under varius categories like merit scholarships, scholarships for schedule caste candidates, economically backward candidates, political suffers and also National Loan Scholarships.

1. Post Matric Scholarship Scheme from Govt. of India

Students belonging to scheduled castes who are permanent residents of Punjab pursuing post matric/secondary stage in any part of India can be given scholarship under this scheme, provided that their income from all sources is not more than 18,000/-

2. State Harijan welfare scheme
Students belonging to backward classes who are permanent residents of Punjab studying in any college/institute of Punjab are given stipend under this scheme, provided that their annual income is not more than Rs. 6000/-. Students of scheduled castes are given stipend under this scheme whose annual income is Rs. 12000/- to Rs. 15000/-.

3. Scholarship scheme for Vimukat Categories
Scholarships will be granted to the students belonging to Vimukat Categories (notified by Pujnab Govt.)studying in the colleges situated in Punjab or Chandigarh. The students should be residents of Punjab. The annual income of the family should not be more than Rs. 5000/- and the income from the land should not exceed Rs. 1000/- in such cases.

4. Grant to girls of scheduled categories

Special grant will be given to the girl students belonging to Scheduled Categories studying in the colleges situated in Punjab or Chandigarh. The students should be residents of Punjab. The annual income of the family should not be more than Rs. 15000/- from all sources in such cases.

5. Low income scholarship scheme
This scholarships will be granted to the students NOT belonging to Schedule Classes / Backward Classes The annual income of the family should not be more than Rs. 6000/- from all sources in such cases.
